Power and Performance

The Grand Cherokee isn't short on power. The standard 3.6-liter V6 engine generates 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. You'll have a towing capacity of up to 6,200 pounds when properly equipped. You can opt for the more powerful 5.7-liter V8 engine on certain trims for 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque if you want a boost.

Where it's really at is the Grand Cherokee SRT® and Trackhawk®. The SRT® has a 6.4-liter V8 that generates 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, while the Trackhawk® has a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 for a massive 707 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to reach 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. You'll have 7,200 pound of towing capacity in either of these when properly equipped.

Safety Features

There are some fantastic safety features standard for the Grand Cherokee and even more available. Blind Spot and Cross Path Detection keeps you alerted to any vehicles in your blind spot when you're trying to merge into another lane or back out of a parking spot around Tucson. You'll also have daytime running headlamps to ensure other drivers can see you at all times of day.

Lane-Departure Warning Plus is one of the features available from the start. This system will detect unintentional lane drifts, and not only will it alert you, but it will also help guide your Jeep SUV back into its lane. You can also get Full-Speed Forward-Collision Warning Plus, which gives you visual and audible alerts if it detects an imminent frontal impact. If you don't brake, the system can brake for you and bring the vehicle to a full stop.

Technology

Your Grand Cherokee will start with an excellent Uconnect® 4 infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, but on most trims this is upgraded to a Uconnect® 4C NAV system with an 8.4-inch screen as standard. Both systems have Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ support as well as SiriusXM® Radio. However, the Uconnect® 4C NAV system adds Wi-Fi Hot Spot functionality and includes a five-year trial to SiriusXM® Traffic Service and Travel Link Service.

On higher trims, you can add a Blu-Ray compatible rear seat video system. Wireless headphones ensure your passengers can enjoy a movie or video games on your drive from Morenci without disturbing the other passengers.

Interior Comfort and Space

You'll have a variety of seating options to stay comfortable around Thatcher in the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Bucket seats are standard on most trims, and you can get anything from cloth to suede to leather trim. Higher trims even switch up the leather for Nappa or Laguna leather. You can pick up heated seats for both the front and rear seats, and ventilated front seats.

You can fit 36.3 cubic feet of cargo behind the rear seats or bring that up to 68.3 cubic feet when you fold down the second row. Passengers with long legs won't mind the back seats thanks to a rear legroom of 38.6 inches, and headroom is very similar between the front and back at 39.9 and 39.2 inches respectively.

What's New for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

With a redesign coming for the 2022 model year, the Grand Cherokee only has a few minor changes and a few new trims. Like other 2021 Jeep SUVs, an 80th Anniversary trim is available to Wilcox drivers based on the Limited trim. It has unique styling and limited 80th Anniversary badging. You can also pick up the new Laredo X trim, which is the first trim to gain the upgraded infotainment system and other enhancements. There's also a new Sun and Sound package on the Limited trim which includes a panoramic sunroof and upgraded audio system.
